The Other Winning Picture

As you know I entered in a photo competition and won first place for my photo of a palm. I took third place in the animal category with this picture of a ladybug hiding behind a flower. I took this picture at my school garden.

Four Green Beans

I took this picture in our school garden while I was in my mom’s photography camp. The green beans where hiding under some plants. I used the macro setting to take a close-up. To use macro, you have to get very close to the subject. You don’t use flash, and you have to be careful not to get too close because it turns out blurry.

This summer I learned about using a digital camera in camp. This is one of the pictures I took. It is very interesting to me because I took it from under the plant. My mom was one of the camp instructors, and she talked to us about taking pictures from different angles – underneath, sideways, laying on your stomach, looking down on an object. I think it is cool because it looks like a green fence.
