A Visit to Sea World

Yesterday, my mom, dad, sister and I went to Sea World. The first ride we went on was the Journey to Atlantis. My dad and I got soaked. Next, I went on Kraken, a roller coaster with my mom. I went on Kraken two more times with my dad. My sister got bored waiting for us because she wasn't doing anything, so next we went to see Shamu. It was a really cool show. We sat in the soak zone but didn't get wet. I guess we were lucky. After Shamu, my sister and I climbed the rope playground for a while, but we got off because it was too crowded. After lunch, we went to see the seals. The show was really funny except for the end when the walrus the trainer brought out pooped in the water. Finally, we went to see the dolphins. They swam and jumped so fast I barely could see them. I was so tired by the end of the day that my legs were about to collapse. It was really fun to going Sea World with my family. I can't wait to go again.

I took this picture in my front lawn on a hibiscus. I was watching a car go by when I noticed a butterfly on the flower, so I went to get my mom's camera. I only got one shot of it which was too bad. I cropped in on this photo so it would stand out more.

I took this picture at the lake in my neighborhood. I like it because it's balanced with light and the shadow. I also like the water in the background. I might enter this picture in a contest. I am not sure what kind of bird this is but I will try to find out.

Digital Photography Rocks!

I know I haven't done my blog in a while because I've been busy with baseball. Now that summer's here, I plan to take lots of pictures and blog every week.

I bet you were wondering how I did this, well I went to spelling with Flickr. You type in a word and it gives you a lot of cool pictures of the letters in that word so you can choose how your word looks. To send it to your desktop take a screen shot.

Four Roses

Just like the sunflower I did this in Photo Shop, but instead I used a rose. The top left is the original, the top right is colored pencil, the bottom left is sponge, and the bottom right is fresco. I took this picture at Lowes' flower department. I like this picture because it has the rose on the left and a little green on the right. I like the balance between the colors.

The Four Flowers

With PhotoShop Elements you can do crazy things like the picture above. How I did this was I used filters to change the original picture to make it look different. The first picture is the original, the second is colored pencil effect, the third is glowing edges, and the last is daubs. I took the original picture in Sharon Oaks where my grandmother lives while I was out on a walk with my dad and sister. I like this picture because it is four different pictures in one.

A Beautiful Rose

I took this picture at my neighbor's house with my mom's camera. Using iPhoto, my mom and I used the black and white effect, and then used the boost color feature to make the rose stand out more from the background. Both me and my mom like this picture. Hope you do too.

Five Things I've Learned About Iguanas

I took some pictures of iguanas in Miami but don't know a lot about them, so my mom had me read a website about iguanas and find five interesting facts to put on my blog. Here they are:
  1. Iguanas can stay under water for as long as 30 minutes.
  2. Hatchlings can be up to 23 centimeters long.
  3. Iguanas bury their eggs.
  4. Iguanas grow to be 1.8 m.
  5. Their normal color is green.

Two Birdies

I just got back from a trip to Miami. I took over 100 photos of iguanas, birds, flowers, and lizards. This picture isn't the best one I took, but what I like about it is the birds in the branches. The angle of the branches is cool too. I got to use my mom's awesome camera with a big lens.
