Five Things I've Learned About Iguanas

I took some pictures of iguanas in Miami but don't know a lot about them, so my mom had me read a website about iguanas and find five interesting facts to put on my blog. Here they are:
  1. Iguanas can stay under water for as long as 30 minutes.
  2. Hatchlings can be up to 23 centimeters long.
  3. Iguanas bury their eggs.
  4. Iguanas grow to be 1.8 m.
  5. Their normal color is green.

Did you know that when it got really cold down in Miami this winter that it "rained" iguanas? Because they are cold blooded and the temperature dropped so quickly, they kind of went into comas and couldn't hold on; PLUNK! they'd fall out of tree.

This is so interesting! I'm from California, and I've never been to Florida - I had no idea there were iguanas there "wild" like we have skunks and cayotes. Thanks so much for taking a great photo, and sharing the information.
